The Toronto Raptors turned a difficult night in Los Angeles into their fourth victory of the season, overcoming a 13-point deficit entering the final quarter to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 125-118 at Intuit Dome on Monday night.

Toronto delivered its strongest offensive quarter of the game when it mattered most, scoring 47 points in the final 12 minutes while limiting the Clippers to 27. The comeback helped the Raptors improve to 4-3 on the season and avoid consecutive defeats during their road trip through California.

Immanuel Quickley led Toronto with 27 points, while Canadian forward RJ Barrett contributed 26. Scottie Barnes finished with 22 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, as the Raptors overturned a game that had largely been controlled by Los Angeles.

Toronto’s offence comes alive in the fourth quarter

The Raptors entered the final period trailing 91-78 after struggling to establish consistency through the opening three quarters.

Los Angeles had taken control early, building a 33-22 advantage after the first quarter before extending its lead to 63-52 at halftime. Toronto remained within reach but had not led at any stage of the contest.

That changed during the closing minutes. Quickley and Barnes became the focal points of Toronto’s comeback, combining for 29 points in the fourth quarter. The Raptors shot 61.9 per cent from the field during the period, finding the offensive efficiency that had been missing earlier in the night.

With just over five minutes remaining, Toronto reduced the Clippers’ advantage to four points following an 8-0 scoring run. Los Angeles briefly restored a six-point lead, but the Raptors responded with another eight unanswered points.

Barnes eventually gave Toronto its first lead of the game, 111-109, on a jump shot with 2:08 remaining. The Raptors maintained their advantage for the remainder of the contest, completing a turnaround after trailing by as many as 16 points.

The result was particularly significant because Toronto had produced another high-scoring fourth quarter the previous night without securing a victory. Against the Lakers on Sunday, the Raptors scored 43 points in the final period but ultimately lost 131-125.

This time, their late offensive production was accompanied by enough defensive stops to finish the comeback.

Quickley, Barrett and Barnes lead Toronto

Toronto’s three leading scorers provided the foundation for the victory, although their contributions came at different stages.

Quickley finished as the team’s leading scorer and played a central role in the final-quarter rally, adding 14 points during the decisive period.

Barnes supplied another 15 points in the fourth quarter, including the basket that finally put Toronto ahead.

Barrett’s 26-point performance provided additional scoring support, while rookie Collin Murray-Boyles contributed 18 points.

The balanced production helped Toronto overcome a Clippers team that received 26 points from Kobe Sanders, a career high for the Los Angeles guard.

Isaiah Jackson added 19 points off the bench, while Darius Garland finished with 16 points and eight assists.

However, Garland also committed seven turnovers, contributing to a difficult finish for the home team.

The Clippers entered the fourth quarter holding a double-digit advantage but could not contain Toronto’s late offensive surge.

Los Angeles consequently suffered its sixth consecutive defeat, falling to 1-6, while the Raptors moved above .500 through seven games.

Raptors continue their Western Conference road trip

Toronto’s victory offered an immediate response to Sunday’s defeat against the Lakers and demonstrated the team’s ability to recover from a substantial deficit away from home.

The Raptors have now scored at least 43 fourth-quarter points in consecutive games, although Monday’s victory was the first of those two performances to produce a winning result.

For Toronto, the challenge will be translating that late-game production into more consistent performances across four quarters.

The Raptors are scheduled to continue their road trip against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, November 4, before visiting the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, November 6.

Monday’s comeback gives Toronto a winning record heading into those matchups, with Quickley, Barrett and Barnes providing the offensive contributions needed to turn a difficult night into a road victory.
