Toronto soccer fans planning to experience the FIFA World Cup atmosphere without entering the stadium now have a key date circled on the calendar.

Tickets for the FIFA Fan Festival Toronto officially go on sale Wednesday, May 6 at 10:00 a.m. ET through Ticketmaster.ca, with organizers confirming that entry to the event will only be allowed through advance registration.

Unlike previous FIFA public viewing events that operated largely on open access, Toronto’s version of the FIFA Fan Festival will run with controlled capacity throughout the tournament. Organizers confirmed there will be no walk-ins permitted at Fort York and The Bentway, meaning supporters must reserve tickets ahead of time before arriving at the venue.

The move comes as the city prepares for massive crowds during the FIFA World Cup 2026, especially around Canada matches and knockout-stage games expected to draw tens of thousands of fans into downtown Toronto.

Daily attendance at the site will also be capped, with the city implementing stricter crowd-management measures as part of a broader security and operations plan around the tournament.

The FIFA Fan Festival Toronto

Will run from June 11 through July 19, matching the full duration of the World Cup. Across those 22 days, the downtown venue will become Toronto’s central fan hub, broadcasting 46 matches live while also hosting concerts, cultural programming, food vendors, art installations, and interactive experiences tied to the tournament.

While access remains free, fans will still need to secure digital tickets online in advance. The reservation system is intended to help organizers manage entry flow and avoid overcrowding at the Fort York and Bentway site.

For supporters hoping to attend multiple matchdays, acting quickly could become important given the expected demand and limited daily capacity.

The festival itself is expected to extend well beyond match screenings. Toronto officials previously confirmed performances from major Canadian artists including Kardinal Offishall, Alessia Cara, Deborah Cox, Shawn Desman, k-os, and The Strumbellas as part of the entertainment lineup.

Kardinal Offishall will also lead “Soundclash Society,” a rotating collective of DJs and performers expected to provide live entertainment throughout the tournament.

Cultural programming connected to Toronto’s diverse communities will also play a major role in the event, with activations celebrating countries including Mexico, Ghana, Korea, and Japan.

Additional attractions planned for the site include a mini soccer pitch designed by Indigenous artist Alanah Astehtsi’ Otsistóhkwaˀ Jewel, family activity areas, Indigenous vendor markets, Ontario-hosted activations, and guided experiences around Fort York National Historic Site.

The FIFA Fan Festival arrives as Toronto prepares to host six FIFA World Cup matches this summer, including Canada’s historic first men’s World Cup match on home soil at BMO Field on June 12.

With demand around the tournament continuing to rise across the city, the Fan Festival is expected to become one of the busiest public gathering spaces of the entire World Cup in Canada.

For many supporters unable to secure stadium tickets, the event will offer the closest possible experience to being inside the tournament atmosphere itself — but this time, fans will need to reserve their spot before showing up.
