Vancouver Goldeneyes snap skid with 5-2 win over New York Sirens
The Vancouver Goldeneyes snapped their four-game losing streak with a 5-2 win against the New York Sirens. Anna Segedi scored her first PWHL goal, and Vancouver sealed the victory with two goals in the third period. The win narrows the standings gap with New York as Vancouver seeks consistency.
The Vancouver Goldeneyes ended a four-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the New York Sirens on Wednesday night, delivering one of their most complete performances of the season.
Anna Segedi scored her first Professional Women’s Hockey League goal, while Vancouver added two more in the third period to pull away and secure the win at home.
The result moves Vancouver to within three points of New York in the standings as the race tightens in the lower half of the table.

Fast start sets the tone for Vancouver
Vancouver established control early, generating sustained offensive pressure from the opening minutes.
Segedi opened her account 6:48 into the first period, finishing a play from Michelle Karvinen with a shot from the low circle to extend Vancouver’s lead to 2-0.
The Goldeneyes outshot the Sirens 12-5 in the first period, consistently testing goaltender Kayle Osborne and forcing New York onto the defensive.
Anna Shokhina also contributed in the opening frame, scoring on the power play in what marked just Vancouver’s second home power-play goal of the season.

Sirens respond but fall short
New York found a response in the second period, pushing back after a slow start.
Sarah Fillier and Anna Bargman each scored to cut the deficit, with Bargman’s goal at 13:49 bringing the Sirens within one at 3-2.
Despite that momentum, New York was unable to find an equalizer, struggling to break through Vancouver’s defensive structure down the stretch.
The Sirens have now dropped four consecutive road games.
Third period goals seal the result
Vancouver regained control in the final period.
Tereza Vanisova restored a two-goal cushion 5:27 into the third, capitalizing on a shot that deflected past Osborne and into the net.
Mannon McMahon later added an empty-net goal to secure the 5-2 result.
Sophie Jaques also found the scoresheet for Vancouver, continuing her consistent offensive contributions from the blue line.

Campbell steady in net as workload continues
Kristen Campbell made 22 saves on 24 shots, recording her third consecutive start with Emerance Maschmeyer still unavailable due to an upper-body injury.
While New York generated more pressure in the middle frame, Campbell remained composed and helped Vancouver maintain its lead during key stretches.
At the other end, Osborne stopped 24 shots but faced sustained pressure throughout the game.

Vancouver builds momentum heading into next matchup
The victory provides a needed boost for Vancouver as it looks to build consistency late in the season.
After controlling large portions of the game and capitalizing on its chances, the Goldeneyes now turn their attention to closing out their five-game homestand.
Vancouver will host the Minnesota Frost on Saturday, while the Sirens return home to face the Seattle Torrent on March 25.
